TTSP's Engineering and Sub-contracting Services
By: Vance Madelo
What many people know about TTSP is that we design ships at the detail production level. That is, we draw design plans for the inner, more intricate structures of a ship including but not limited to piping, electrical systems, machinery outfitting, cutting plans, interior accommodation, hatch cover and painting, internal finishing and completion touches among others.
The majority of the detail-designing tasks are usually for ship owners that are also customers from our mother company in Japan, the Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Company as well as the Tsuneishi Heavy Industries in Cebu, Balamban, Philippines.
However, TTSP also accept subcontracting services for non-captive markets locally and globally through its ancillary section, CAD Engineering Services Subcontracting Department (CESSD). We have designing projects other than our own (Tsuneishi vessels) that involved 3D modeling and 2D detailing using licensed designing softwares to include CADMATIC, BricsCAD, AutoCAD LT, ZWCAD, Draftsight and Aveva Marine(PDMS). These projects involved tanker ships, carriers, engineering construction and manufacturing plants.
IMO (International Maritime Organization) environmental requirements related to Ballast Water are soon to be implemented. CESSD participates in the design of Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) Installation of existing vessels. With this as built-construction, CESSD utilizes the capability of 3D Scanning System in order to reverse-engineer the existing area and transform it back to computer generated 3D model. Using the 3D model replica of the actual area, CESSD has engineered BWMS design effectively.
Currently, TTSP through CESSD is aiming to increase its market for local shipping and engineering industries in the country to give value to our merchant countrymen. As we continue to be more globally-competitive and frontline in detail and production designing, which is our core competency, we also aim to afford and nurture the industries from our own country’s backyards. In time, these local merchants will accelerate to pick-up our value offering for state-of-art, cost-efficient, timely, and quality technical services.
